Welcome and A Giveaway: Emily Ley Planner

Give Away is now closed.  Thank you to all who participated!!!

Hey Y’all!!  Welcome to Hope Filled Home!  This purposeful blog has been a dream in the making for a long time.  And now, here she is!  I’m so glad you have come to visit!  Make yourself at home.

I’ve been praying over this blog for a while.  You can read my why behind creating it up in the menu.  You can also meet my precious family in my About Me section.  Scroll through some previous posts to be introduced to different portions of this blog.

With this launch, I have my first giveaway! Yippee! It is an Emily Ley 2014 Planner with a sticky (post-it note like) notepad booklet.  I am super duper excited about this giveaway!  I heard about Emily Ley from my friend, Brittany, who used to come to my house on Wednesday nights and babysit my kids WITH me. (Yep, I didn’t leave the house.  I just needed help!)  She would help with the kids when Chris was at church.  And in between pizza and baths she told me all about Emily Ley, and how she was IN LOVE with all of her cute stuff.  So, of course I had to go on a hunt.  And I fell in love with her, too!

But, the story goes on.  Probably around the same time I discovered Emily, Lara Casey (one of Emily’s BFFs) had become dear friends with my sister, Nancy Ray.  I was finally able to meet Emily (& Lara) this October at Making Things Happen! I felt like I had known her forever!  We share a heart for family and healthy marriages, for mamas and their babies.  She is so very precious.  You would love her instantly!

I have been using my planner this past month, and I want YOU to have one, too!  I wish I could give one to each of my readers!  I LOVE this planner so much!  Some of my favorite things about it…

  • the pretty colors = HAPPINESS!
  • The way each day has it’s OWN PAGE, to do list, notes, and dinner plans spot!
  • And, my most favorite thing of all..a tiny little box to jot down your favorite memory of the week on Fridays.
  • Oh, and the first page is go to dinner ideas!

I squealed when I saw it the first time!    I  mean… what can I say, she is speaking my language!

Here is how you can enter to win one of these beauties…

  1. Leave a comment here and tell me what you are most excited or most curious about from Hope Filled Home!

Mama to Mama : Introduction

Think of it like this- you have just had a baby. I’ve come to your house to bring you a meal.  You have been up the entire night, and are desperate for some sleep.  (If this really happened, I would send you straight to bed, and cuddle your baby while you caught some zzzzz’s.)  Anyway, since this is the internet & I can’t rock your baby, I will tell you what worked for us instead!  Alrighty?  There are definitely some heated opinions on some of this type of advice.  I’m not trying to sway anyone with these topics.  Just sharing with you like you are my buddy.  :-)

Some topics I hope to teach on are:

  • Swaddling your newborn (I have a secret trick!)
  • Setting up the best sleep conditions
  • Guilt-free view on feeding your baby
  • Peeks into caring for multiples
  • Potty Training 101
  • Schedules and Freedom
  • Diaper Rash Treatment
  • Meal Time
  • Toddler Discipline
  • and more!

Let me know if you have a question or something you may be struggling with.  I would LOVE to help if I can. If I haven’t had experience with it, I won’t even try to teach on it. :-)

Feast for Your Soul: Introduction

A huge part of my heart is to teach women HOW to study God’s word!  Did you know God wants to speak directly to YOU?!  He can do that through devotional books, but His Living Word is so much better!  It is LIFE giving!  If you are like me, I come to the Bible knowing it has a lot of good stuff in it, and I need to read it! But, it can be overwhelming.

Devotionals are a blessing to have, but there is so much more to feasting on the Word of God.  It is an endless, deep sea of treasures.  Think about it this way- digging into God’s word is like preparing a gourmet meal for yourself.  It takes a little bit more chopping and preparing and effort to get the ingredients, but the results are completely worth it!

Come along with me on this journey.  We are going to dig in with some tools and open hearts and ask God do some real work in our lives together!  One of my favorite verses is

For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.‘ Hebrews 4:12

This is where true healing, clear direction, and abundant life come from…when we encounter the Living God!!!  The best way to do this is in His Word.

Family Wellness: Introduction

Anyone in my family can tell you I have a slight fascination with all things natural!  However, I am not against modern medicine at all!  I still take ibuprofen, antibiotics, or other medicines when needed.  I just like to try out the natural remedy first, see if my body will fight, and then, if I still need to, I will gratefully use medicine.

I am learning, but I have also learned a lot!  I want our family and your family to thrive!

And while we will still eat fast food occasionally (I heart french fries, what can I say?!), I also want to care for my family!  I have a lot to learn in this area!  I am not a professional or a doctor!  I just love caring for my family and our health!  It is fascinating!  I hope to use this section for things I have learned, and am excited to share with you!
