ALMOST 28 WEEKS!

This week is a milestone week! I love ’em and hate ’em. I know it’s not too much longer to keep these boys in, but let me tell you that it sure is getting harder. My body feels maxed out, but my mind knows the boys are not done yet.

I went to the doctor today and all is well! The boys had their heartbeats checked on ultrasound, and they were measuring in the 130’s-140’s (normal range!) Baby is laying horizontal, down low… using my bladder as a trampoline. Baby B is on my left and is breech. Baby C is kind of transverse/ diagonal on my right side – He is the one on my right side that pushes his little noggin’ up into my stomach, giving me weird stomach pains. They all looked healthy and had normal amniotic fluid.

Contractions have been the same – a couple in the morning, a couple in the evening. The crazy thing now is that when I contract, I can see three distinct babies. It is a little freakish. I asked if it was normal, and it is! She even told me as I continue to grow, I will be able to see elbows, heels, knees – and know what body part goes with what baby. My belly has been jumping all around, and is really fun to watch. I’ve tried to record it a couple of times with no luck… I’ll keep trying.

I’ve kind of been feeling kind of down lately. Summer is happening all around me, and I am somewhat trapped inside. I feel like I’ve come so far, but I still have so much farther to go. We have visitors coming starting this weekend and continuing on through the month of June. It will be something nice to look forward to and should help my mood.

Anyway, that’s about it for today.

Here is the belly shot. Yes, it’s massive… only to get “massive-er.” 🙂 Sorry, I didn’t get dolled up for y’all. I live in this dress, so you will probably see it again!!! I came home from the doctor and fell asleep. 🙂

Oh, and I have to put up a Harper post because she is just the best little joy! I will work on that tomorrow.

Keep on praying! 4 weeks to go until 32 weeks.

Food

So, I just wanted to blog about what I just ate. Food takes up about 75% of my thoughts, and is a big part of my life right now. I have never had the freedom of eating that I have being pregnant with triplets. I am proud to say that I have surpassed the 200 pound mark (I was actually very excited about this -haha), and am thoroughly enjoying eating. (I know this enjoyment will soon be coming to a halt as my stomach runs out of room to hold food.

So, my last meal was Wendy’s – I haven’t eaten a lot of fast food recently, I actually eat pretty healthy… lots of protein, carbs, veggies, fruit, and TONS of water! But, this last meal was soooo good.

I had…
– Fried Chicken Sandwich
– Medium Fry
– Small Lemonade
– Jr. Deluxe Cheeseburger
– Medium Frosty

And y’all…. I ATE IT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! In ONE sitting. (except for a few fries Chris and Harper ate).

Just thought I would record the days of guilt-free, terrible eating. These boys better be packing on the pounds!

27 weeks!!!

How far along? 27 weeks

Total weight gain: 45 lbs.

Maternity clothes? I have about outgrown all of my maternity clothes. None of my button down shirts can be buttoned anymore, and many of my maternity shirts ride up on my belly – leaving the bottom 1/3 hanging out (not attractive)!! haha

Stretch marks? Getting a lot on my belly – under my belly button.

Sleep: Actually, not too bad. Prilosec is my BFF and allows me to lay down! I sleep very hard!!! Enjoying while I can!

Best moment this week: Going to the doctor and being encouraged! Also, having the cribs set up makes it seem so real!

Movement: Like crazy! There is definitely a party going on in there!

Food cravings: coffee ice cream! I want to drink coffee so bad, but it isn’t good for the boys – even if I have decaf, I really need to be drinking water. But, I LOVE the taste of coffee, so I guess having it in ice cream form is the next best thing!

Gender: DEFINITELY BOY BOY BOY

Labor Signs: Read my previous post. But NO signs of labor around!!!

Belly Button in or out? My belly button has officially popped out! I wondered if it would!

Wedding rings on or off? off off off- but can’t wait to wear them again!!

What I miss: I dont really have anything that I miss. I think I will probably miss this quiet moment I have right now. Harper is sleeping, and I am reclining on my bed. The house is quiet and peaceful. But, it will be this way again one day, I will probably be wishing that babies hadn’t grown up so fast!

What I am looking forward to: Lots of things! Chris is home on Monday! Friends from GA are coming to visit next weekend, my aunt is coming the next week, and my BFF, Crystal (and possibly Nancy) is coming the next!!! Sounds busy, but it really isn’t – they know to keep it all calm and quiet!! 🙂

Weekly Wisdom: Enjoy the quiet evenings, sleeping in late, and boredom that comes with waiting.

Milestones: Making it this far!!! ha! Also, talking to some other triplet mamas who are ahead of me helps so much to know what to prepare for!

I’m trying to appreciate each day that I am pregnant. More than likely this will be the last time that I get to experience pregnancy – much less, a 3-in-1 pregnancy!!! As much as I want it to be over, this is such a precious (and QUIET) time. 🙂

Oh What A Night…

Well, after the doctor’s appointment yesterday, I started contracting A LOT around 9 pm. I will usually have a couple of contractions a day – 1-3 in the morning, maybe 2 in the afternoon, and 1-3 in the evening. These aren’t “labor” contractions that hurt, just Braxton Hicks contractions that tighten my belly so it is super hard for about 45 seconds. Around 9, I was having them every 5 minutes for about 1 1/2 hours. It was pretty scary. I was so incredibly tired after having a mini meltdown (complete with mom and Chris wiping away my tears) we decided to climb into bed to see if I could sleep them off. It worked, although I had about 5 through out the night.

I woke up at 6:15, and proceeded to start the contractions again. I had about 15-20 mini ones until 9:15 when I called the doctor. (If it was any worse, I would have called earlier!!! I’m not trying to be stoic at this point!) The nurse practioner ordered me to lay on my left side and drink as much water as possible while I timed and counted contractions for an hour. I had 5 within the hour. So, my Dr wanted me to come in at 1 to be monitored, checked, and then get my 2nd dose of the steroid shot.

From last night until this morning I really had to get my mind and emotions in check. It made me realize how CLOSE we are to the finish line!!! 5 weeks from tomorrow before we make it to 32 weeks!!! While hugging my bed and comfy pillows, I prepared my mind and heart to be admitted to the hospital for this last month if I needed to be. I know this is the final stretch of this marathon pregnancy (and it is the hardest part).

However, after a few exams, it turned out being GREAT news! My cervix hadn’t changed at all since yesterday!!! They think the contractions could have been caused by being examined yesterday, and just having a much busier day than I was used to. (We were at the doctor’s for 2 hours – I’m never out that long – haha!) So, after been stuck in the booty again(other side this time) with the “juice” (as Chris calls it), and given a prescription (Indocin) to help with the contractions, we were out the door. My mom dropped me off to brave the doctor by myself, and Chris met me (food in hand!) as I was finishing up. So, Praise the Lord that I am home tonight, snuggled in my bed with my comfy pillows!!!!

Just finished watching American Idol with mom and Harps – it was a GREAT show! Very entertaining, and I was very happy with the winner! (I won’t spoil it for anyone who TiVo-ed it) Now I am waiting for Chris to get home from church, and think I will finish watching Slumdog Millionaire until he does.

Praise Jesus with me tonight that we are all doing GREAT!

26 weeks 4 days

First of all, congrats to my triplet mama friend, Kami, who gave birth to three healthy girls at 35 weeks!! They all weighed in around 5 lbs, and mama and girls are doing well! Kami has been such a blessing to me as we have walked through a lot of our pregnancies together. We are prayer warriors and encouragers to each other. Even though we live far apart, we hope one day we can have her 3 girls and our 3 boys meet!!!

We went to the doctor today, and had a good appointment! The boys are doing well. We got a quick glimpse of them as we checked their heartbeats – they looked great!!! I also had to do my last glucose test. I drink a super sugary drink that tastes like Hi-C fruit punch with extra sugar. I actually like it :-), most pregnant women do not. Then, I had to wait and hour and get my blood drawn. This is my third time doing this test, and hopefully last time! 🙂

I then got to visit with the nurse practitioner. They did detect a *small* change in my cervix – nothing indicating labor- but, they did want to go ahead and give me the steroid shot. I had to get one today, and will go back tomorrow to get dose #2. Surprisingly, it didn’t hurt as bad as I thought it would!!! The needle length was a little frightening, but not too bad.

Then, I had to get my finger pricked – which hurt worse than the shot! hahah! They tested my blood glucose level to make sure the shot didn’t trigger a spike (as if there wasn’t a *spike* enough! ha!) But all turned out fine – Praise the Lord!

I now start going weekly to the Dr! This week really hit home with the boys’ arrival right around the corner! I’ll post in the next few days pics of the nursery and cribs! They are up and ready for babies! Even though we are getting closer and closer… keep praying that they boys will stay in until 32 weeks. It will be so much better for them and their health! Only 37 days until 32 weeks – we can do this!!! 🙂

Oh, I will also be posting some hilarious Harper videos in the near future. Her little personality is developing so quickly, and she is the joy of our hearts!

Oh, funny little fact to close with… I was going through my pregnancy journal that I kept with Harper. A week before I gave birth I measured 45 inches around and had gained about 45 pounds. Well, I measured this week, and I am now 47 1/2 inches around and have gained about 45 pounds. Big ol’ belly…keep on growin’!!
